1. That single word spell check is annoyng. Every time on spell check I'm noticed about some "m" or "p" or what other single word.

2. I have my names_etc.xml file, where are all that I added.

BUT, this latest version doesn't recognize the previous saved names, etc, and I'm asked about some word (when I use spell chek) even I have already added that name.

For example, Terra Nova is added to name-etc.xml, but spell check doesn't know that .

If I'm syncying a show and I find a word that I'll add as name_etc, on a spell check that word isn't recognized.


It's nearly Christmas ! (I just imagine what are you thinking right now )

I found some files in the pack, but there is no one deb-file in it. There is exe-file in it, but I could not open it through Wine.
Well, I am newbie of Linux and may be I have done something wrong
Is anybody tried to use this version?
I do not speak English well.

So I want to get answer: "You are right, this version is not for Linux" and I want to get working program

or

"You are one of that dummies! This version is for Linux. See what's wrong with your computer and head."

I've been a bit busy with work... and Christmas parties

1) In latest version you can turn it off in Settings.xml manually via the setting "SpellCheckOneLetterWords".
2) I was unable to re-create this error... could you supply steps to re-create this?

Try to read the README
You will need Mono installed to run the SubtitleEdit.exe file (yes, it *IS* the same exe file for windows and Linux).
After mono is installed you can run SE via command line with something like "mono SubtitleEdit.exe".

Sure, here we go :

1. Here I'm adding "Terra Nova" to names (I know, big mistake )

I know that could be a tricky try, because that name is a two words name, but I want to keep it as it is.


Maybe some search for a two words name must know that that name can be found on 2 lines, like:

Nova, heaven on Earth. (that's fantasy, but I haven't any good example )

Hi,

You know what is "strange"?

Before this latest update, when I was doing correction to Terra Nova's subtitles, the change casing's option had returning "Terra Nova" as a name to correct but spell check option doesn't know what change casing was doing.

I've checked now and everything is fine.

Is it just for me or the 3.2.2 version doesn't automatically select the current subtitle line when playing video. This used to work for the previous version i was using (i think it was around 3.0b beta), but now i can't seem to make it work, even did a full uninstall/reinstall.

Ok, i'm an idiot, didn't saw the option there :rolleyes:

I'm glad you got it working
The video player does not work as well on Linux as it does on windows, but otherwise SE should work fine.

Hi there, take a sit, paper, pencil and get to work!

What it is about.
I updated my SE to the latest version. Everything is OK except those:

I'd installed the latest version using installer version, that means I had a new shiny brand SE.
I'd copy in this new SE's folders all old folders and files that I had (from previous versions) - you know, user dictionary and so on.
1. My old User_name wasn't recognized by the new installation, not such a big deal, but I try to think why is happen that.
2. If we have a lonely "i" inside italic marks, it will be not converted to "I".
3. Remove interjections works fine but just with words that are already set by you. Anything else doesn't work. Plus, if we have a line like "Hm, hm, hm", remove interjection will remove just the first "Hm".
4. (But in addition to the 3rd) If interjection words have more than 2 letters, removing doesn't work but only just for some words.

Another example:
BEFORE: Ahem.
AFTER: em.

I will not let you breath until you'll not solve that!

Although, it's the same person talking.
The same is with the following case:

This should happen only for the following case:

I was there.
Archer: Well I was not.

When it should become:

- I was there.
- Well I was not.

But not for:

I used to...
