Hi.

I would like to configure in my profile the language of the subtitle so that only them appear.
Why because it would be for all the site (not just the episode page) and also because I search in priority French sub. If they are not here I use the English one.
So I wish a filter with two languages (I think most of the translators who are are lazy as me think the same, I understand English but it use my brain :P )

I have a second proposal useful for translators:

To have a dual language subtitle.
don't worry i will explain my thought:
When a French subtitle is at for example 80% of completion.
I would like to have the English subtitle for the 20% remaining so that I can watch my episode in French and English with no part without sub.
It will allow me to watch a partial translation, so I can correct the mistakes and translate the missing part.

Thank for your works.

And why to not translate the 20% missing part and watch the entire episode in French and made proper correction eventualy, instead of - please, try to understand that I'm not rude - I-don't-know-how-to-name-it suggestion?
Translation feature on addic7ed site makes what it is supposed it should make: it ofer a support for translators, and it's doing that starting from a standalone file, having as result another file.
I don't see the point to fill a translation with some untranslated lines.

More of that, how we know that a translation it's done in the case from above?
More of that, English words codes doesn't match French words codes - for example.

Hi Doc.

Don't worry i don't thing you are rude.
If it's not possible in a technical way just forget, it's just a suggestion :P

I will try to explain why it could be useful for me.

First in the rules they recommend to watch the episode before the translation.
So if the translation is not finished I prefer to watch it with the English sub.

With my weird suggestion I can correct the errors in the French translation (I almost always found mistakes when the sub is "young").
And I can concentrate myself for the untranslated English part so that it would be easier to translate after.

For the fact of knowing if the translation is over, you just have to create 2 subs for one translation (one with blanks and one temp sub with mixed languages).

PS: for the name I suggest "mixed translation", "dual language translation" "French with untranslated part in English" or "super ultra powerful weird subtitle suggestion" ;) choice is yours.

Have a nice day or night depending of when you read it.

We cannot let language field uncompleted, so, what we can fill there: "Fren-glish"? :)
And for one version we'll have "X" "Esperanto" versions :) empty or not.

Sorry, but no.

But you can try to join to any started translation, to contribute and make proper correction in the proper time, and in this case, ALL of us will have a nice and decent translation. Not to mention about how fast will be ready :) .

Just a warning : my antivirus software (Trend Micro Office Scan) has blocked some ads on Addic7ed homepage, labelled as threatening and dangerous.

These ads come from this domain : ad.harrenmedianetwork.com.

Maybe it's overreacting, but who knows...

Well, I know it's not as simple, but I would love an Addic7ed API, making it easier for other programms to fetch subtitles automaticaly from the site ( pretty much what periscope does, but in a much easier way ) :)

~Cheers
