My native language is Dutch. I use english subs because when i do i can hear and see. So i use two senses (my ears/eyes) Thats why i understand it better.

RE: Why subtitles?
As another movie freak I must have ALL movies and some of TV shows the second they're out.English is not my native language(I'm albanian)so there's always something I miss from a dialogue. But as my english improves I find myself less prone in using them as they're a little distracting. Now with some shows with a more simple languge I don't use them at all but for UK english God help me I don't understand a word.
I began myself making subs as my mom(who speaks and understand english perfectly) was having difficulties in hearing as a mean to help her enjoy her favourite shows(Lost and House)and then I decided to share them with others. If I can help at least one person I'll be happy.

RE: Why subtitles?
Hell Of the Steel I read your post and I think its nice what you do for your mom. I started losing my hearing when I was 24. I'm 28 now and deaf completely from one ear. Minimal hearing from the other. I need cochlear implant but I can't afford one. It's HARD, and frustrating. I won't go on about my problems because I can't say I'm not happy, we are poor, but I have my wife and daughter, and my wife deals with me every day and she chose to. I'm grateful. Keep up the good work ADDIC7ED and hello to all the arabs and albanians and dutch and french and especially the UK for having a cool funky way of speaking lolz. I like watching euro flicks. anyways, english subtitles for the win!!! Sorry I'm super happy my wife and I are getting back almost $5000 in tax refund and we are going on a shopping spree!!!!!!

Of course the write English is more understandable than the speak one. I translate the english subs to my own language and when I have the english subs is easier Smile

Thank you, "honeybunny" your subs are amazing Smile
