[Kerensky] Sas V12-01-2010 (Batch)

Kerensky

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

The goal of this little program is to create an automatic synchro (or more accurate, a pre-synchro)

of a video/audio given, presented in a srt output format.

It will try to "guess" where the speech starts and ends, only the times, NO the text.

Installation:

You only need the Microsoft Framework .NET 3.5 SP1 (included in windows 7)

sascapturaen.jpg

Download it from: Installer || Portable(no installation) - (3.4Mb)

Note: It usually takes about 10mn (less in quad cores)
to complete the whole process of a 42mn episode.

[You can change between Spanish/English in Options]

For problems/suggestions: 1N3ubD1het.gif

I hope you guys found it interesting! :evil:

I have added your application to the Downloads page ( link is in the header - right side )

http://www.sub-talk.net/downloads.php

Edit: I`m trying your app and i think i found a bug. Since i can use Sound files, i tried to use a Wave (.wav) file. It still converts it to Wav. What`s the point?

Btw you should make an installer for it ( i can help you with that if you want ).

Edit 2: Looks like the program doesn`t delete the temp file... since i get an error that TempSASTemp2.SAS already exists.

yes, i was testing something and i forgot to activate the function which deletes the TempSAS folder.

I'll change it in a bit.

Edit: Done!

It's still converted because i need mono audio, and since i don't know (i don't check) if it's a stereo or mono and if it's 16bit - 16Khz...
but, you're right i can look if that wav is mono 16bits - 16Khz.

Thanks for the help, it's easy to do a installer using VS2008 but i think it's just more easy uncompress whenever you want the app.

BTW thanks for putting the application in that part!

Edit: The email which notifies the replies, says "unknown" as sender.

Yes, i just tested that. It says unknown because i used alex28 [at] addic7ed [dot] com in the admin email ( trying to avoid spiders ). I`ll do a fix tonight.

Well, you may be right... but for example i downloaded the file and decompressed it on the desktop.. so i also got 2 folders and one .ini file there :P. It`s messy. Sure, i can just move it to a folder somewhere but well... that`s not the point :P.

If you updated the app, did you also update the download links?

Yes, i updated both, google code and mediafire links

You can alway create a shortcut to the desktop xD

I can put the ini file inside the exe, but since it's a xml file, i thought maybe someone will like to access all the configurable parameter of the app.

Edit: 2 folders? It's should have only created one, the TempSAS, which is temporally...
ok, i remember now, the "en" folder is just for localization.

"Great software, it's not perfect yet, but great!"

I wish...

PS: Kerensky - I tried the new Win7-ready version, but still no .srt content

"The srt file it generated on my computer is empty, why?"

Ah, there's the rub... It happens for some of us, but not others.
When we have the answer to that question I shall order a 21 gun salute and a peal of bells.

I analyzed the debug text file you send me and...
it's very weird, the program read the data info but then, doesn't use it (or can't use it or whatever)

I'm preparing a new debug version with even more debug data output, i will send you when it's ready.

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...

New version: v11-01-2010

(updated the download link in the 1st post)

Well, I FINALLY found (and fix) the infamous blank srt output bug.

It was where I first looked... 2 month ago.
Not my finest moment, I have to admit xD

I also added new features:

1) Now, you can set the priority level of the application in the Advanced Options Window:

sasadvancedoptionseng.jpg

2) The last files used in the SAS are displayed like "Recent" under "File"

3) A Batch input is now possible. Select all the input files you want to use,
and the app will create in the same directory as the input file is:
"NameInputFile_SAS.srt"

Remember that each option shows a nice tooltip with info when
you hover the mouse on top of it.

Please, tell me any errors you may find,
and, of course, any suggestions as well.

Good morning, Kerensky.

OK - I am now getting a .srt file that has content (which is progress); sadly, the content (every line) is as follows...

28
00:01:36,241 --> 00:01:38,740
Line: 28 (Silen=74.63) (EMedp=1.143)

29
00:01:38,741 --> 00:01:41,103
Line: 29 (Silen=61.21) (EMedp=1.096)

30
00:01:42,392 --> 00:01:44,891
Line: 30 (Silen=87.82) (EMedp=0.990)

31
00:01:44,892 --> 00:01:47,391
Line: 31 (Silen=65.75) (EMedp=0.992)...

...etc.

I have tried two different .avi files, with different Options settings; I copied and saved the generated .wav files, and they are OK (they play OK, in, e.g., WMP).

Regards,
s.

spyderspyder, that's seems a valid result.

As you can see in the 1st post:

The goal of this little program is to create an automatic synchro (or more accurate, a pre-shyncro)
of a video/audio given, presented in a srt output format.
It will try to "guess" where the speech starts and ends, only the times, NO the text.

And also, in the end of that post, there are a link to a few subtitle examples of the output.

I'm sorry if the app disappointed you, but if my program also could understand what are saying in the audio,
first, it won't be free, and very possible, I'll be rich by now xDD

I also uploaded a new version: v12-01-2010
It's just a minur bug correction in the new Batch input file mode.

Hi.

Oops!

Now I get it...

All this time, I've been expecting a speech-to-text miracle!

Oh dear - next thing you'll tell me is that there's no Santa Claus!

OK - back to my hopes and dreams...

Cheers,
s.
