      Hello eugenie62 je confirme que tu étais dans le vrai ; rain check n'a plus grand chose à voir avec la météo 😁 même si, à l'origine, c'était un reçu qu'on te donnait pour "plus tard". Cf Cambridge dictionary : rain check noun [ C ] US (also raincheck) * a piece of paper that you are given by a shop when something that is advertised for sale at a certain price is not available. This piece of paper allows you to buy the product at the advertised price when it becomes available. * a ticket that allows you to go to an event at a later time if bad weather stops that event from happening

      As an amateur subtitle translator from English into Russian with many years of experience, I’d caution against assuming that official dubbings are always accurate. In my experience, even professional dubbing translations can be surprisingly inaccurate at times, especially when it comes to idiomatic expressions.

      Bonjour, je viens juste pour avoir un avis sur la traduction d'une expression. Dans l'épisode 8 de Dark Winds, Joe et Gordo discutent de leur partie de pêche du lendemain, à laquelle Joe n'est pas sûr d'aller. Il part en disant : "I'll take a rain check on the fishing just to be safe, huh?" J'ai traduit par : "Je vais reporter la pêche, au cas où." La VF vient de sortir (le doublage et les sous-titres sont identiques) et elle donne : "Je regarderai s'ils prévoient de la pluie, demain, on sait jamais, non ?" J'ai fait une grosse erreur ? pourtant quand j'ai vérifié l'expression, ça donne bien "reporter, remettre à plus tard" et toutes les variantes possibles. Merci Bonne journée

      Apparemment, NBC a commandé un épisode pilote pour une série reboot de The Rockford Files  (200 dollars plus les frais en vf, série avec James Garner, diffusée entre 1974 et 1980 aux US, à partir de 1989 sur La Cinq puis sur France 3 entre 1998 et 1999 en France). C'est David Boreanaz qui reprend le rôle principal. Il y a eu plusieurs tentatives de reprise de la série dans le passé, dont une en 2009 avec Dermot Mulroney.
