Allow UTF-8 only.

So what is the logic? Some media-players can handle UTF-8, others not. Some TV's van handle UTF-8, others not.

I guess your preference/logic depends on the hardware you use.

I pretty agree with you.

UTF-8 avoid lot of errors, like bad tags or fantasy colors.

Even it's easy to convert any str to UTF-8, it should be the standard (and it's the standard for most subtitles sites).
