Great! If you already have an API key, you can try using it in Subtitle Edit. First, install Subtitle Edit on your computer. You can download it here: https://www.nikse.dk/subtitleedit = it’s completely free. I’ve included screenshots in the archive showing how to set up the auto-translation. If the API key doesn’t work, choose the first option in the list — Google Translate V1. It doesn’t require an API key. If you have any problems with the auto-translation, maybe someone on this forum will be able to help. I’m not familiar with API keys. Subtitle Edit Screenshots.rar

Subtitle Edit can translate subtitles using Google Translate. It can also use various AI models, but that requires an API key. Since I don't know what an API key is or where to get one, I translate subtitles with AI manually using ChatGPT or DeepSeek. Give the AI a prompt such as: "Translate these subtitles into high-quality English. Do not change the timing. Do not change the subtitle numbers. The number of translated subtitles must match the original. Do not add any introductions or conclusions." Open the .srt file in Notepad. (If the subtitles are embedded in the video, you can extract them with Subtitle Edit.) Copy 100–200 subtitle entries at a time and paste them into the AI. Save the translated output in another text file. Once everything has been translated, change the file extension from .txt to .srt. Five minutes of work, and you've got English subtitles.

THX For this. I have never really used AI to do this, is there a certain program that you use for this.
